Cowboy Bebop DVD Disc 2Score: 10 out of 10
Read Tazman’s review of Cowboy Bebop DVD Disc 1 for an introduction.
Session #6: Sympathy for the Devil One of the best stories in the series. Spike and Jet are chasing a mark who is a former soldier. The mark is following a wheelchair-bound man being led around by a child of approximately 7 years in age. After chasing the man, Spike loses him only to catch him falling from a window. Before dying he asks Spike to help and gives him a ring. Spike discovers that the child is long-lived and is the killer of interest. Features one of the best showdowns in the series. A truly absorbing story filled with action and drama.
Session #7: Heavy Metal Queen One of the slower stories in the series (it was bound to happen eventually). Spike and Faye are searching for a target whose only identifiable mark is a dragon tattoo. Faye meets the target but ends up totaling her ship; Spike ends up in a bar fight and meets the title character. In the ensuing trouble, his fighter is also totaled. Both Faye |

and Spike end up hitching a ride back to the Bebop. Sending a description of the target's ride over the CB channel allows the title character to catch up to him. After telling the Bebop crew all parties meet up in the middle of an explosive mine site.
Session #8: Waltz for Venus A real fairy-tale. After capturing a group of in-flight terrorists, Spike speaks with one of passengers on-board the |

flight. The passenger in question is intrigued with Spike's fighting abilities and begs him to demonstrate and teach a few moves. After continual harassment, Spike relents and suddenly the man runs away but not before asking Spike to hold a package and return it to him in 2 days. Contained in the package is a rare plant vital to survival (to some) on Venus and worth millions. The story reveals that the passenger's sister needs the plant to regain her sight. More important, is the fact that Spike must hunt him and his gang (the gang that he turned on and stole the plant from). An amazing story and truly lovable characters.
Session #9: Jamming with Edward Introduction of ED! First time that the Bebop returns to planet Earth to look for the person or group responsible for using the planet's defense satellites to draw shapes on what used to be South America. Believing this to be the master hack of all time, the Bebop crew begins the search for Radical Edward a supposed former athlete, tran-sexual, gay alien (see the episode you won't keep a straight face either). Edward makes herself known to the crew to solve the crime but at the price of joining the crew. The battle scene in this episode sets whole new standards in intensity. One of the best episodes in the series!
Session #10: Ganymede Elegy Bringing in a captured man on Ganymede, Jet decides to visit an old friend . . . one who left him. Jet is forced to face his past in the eyes of the woman who he loved and is having difficulty resigning who he has become. When Spike discovers that the current boyfriend of Jet's former girlfriend is wanted, the chase is on. Torn between his past life and duty as a policeman (and current life as a Bounty Hunter) and his former love, Jet must decide whether to capture them or let them go. Good story especially with the flashbacks to Jet's former life.
An all-around excellent disk that provides as much action as it does laughter.
