Please Twins Volume 4: Twins Forever (DVD)

Will the real twin sister please step forward?

Love Alliance Rule #1: one will not make any advances towards Maiku until they know who the real sister is. But Karen has discovered who is really related to Maiku and now she can express her true feelings to Maiku. But when the truth is revealed, will the real sister still fulfill Rule #3and support the other girl’s relationship with Maiku? In the end, the only rule that will really matter is Rule #5; they will always stay on Maiku’s side.

This final disc brings Please Twins to a conclusion in the first two episodes and the third episode is more of a dessert than anything else. Two highly emotional episodes with revelations and soul bearing that will make even the most stoic tear-up. Let’s Go!

Episode #11: I Want To Tell You, I Love You

In the end of the last episode, Karen makes a HUGE discovery – the house that they are living in is just the backdrop for the photo, it isn’t necessarily their home. Looking at the angle at which the photo was taken at, she discovers that the abandoned house behind their home may have been the home from which the photo was taken. A search of the home turns up a woman’s diary and more importantly another copy of the twins. Reading the diary, Karen now knows who the true family member is.

This information is a huge weight on small Karen, she struggles with the implications of what will happen once this information is released. Believing that the surrogate family will lose a member, she holds the truth from Miina and Maiku. Both start to worry about Karen who is more reserved than usual and is obviously troubled. When their offers to talk are rebuffed, Karen finally comes to the decision to tell the both of them, but Maiku first. With a note in his desk, she asks him out on a date where

they return from their last outing, and at the end of the evening, she shows Maiku the diary that is actually from his mother and tells him who his sister really is (I’m not going to ruin it – the sister will be referred to as #1 and the stranger as #2). Once the news settles in and everyone now knows the truth, #2 finally decides that it is time to leave the “family” and go on her own way. Maiku is very upset and tries to run after her to no avail.

Episode #12: We Three Twins

With #2 having left the house, Maiku spends the entire night

trying desperately to find her and convince her to return home. The next day at school, #1 shows up and is stunned to see #2 sitting in her usual seat. After some conversation, they learn that #2 is staying with the Shidou family (Matagu and Haruko) and will continue to attend classes but won’t return to the house yet. #2 spends the entire day at school avoiding Maiku and refusing to speak to him directly. Maiku feels as though they are being abandoned and is upset about the separation, however, #2 confides in #1 that she is too scared to speak to Maiku yet, but won’t reveal why. It’s going to take some serious meddling to get things all straightened out so here comes: Mizuho-sensei, Haruko, Morino, Tsubaki, and Kousei. It’s going to be sweet.

Episode #13: The Summer Never Ends

OVA EPISODE!!! Easily as funny as the OVA episode for Please Teacher especially when the organization starts to break down and all of the characters start to lose control of the situation.

Things have started to return to normal in the house… well, as normal as things get around that house. It’s vacation time, and Maiku is going to try and work ahead to earn some extra money for the coming semester, but the females of the house want attention and aren’t caring too much for the programming deadline. Maiku’s desparation leads him to ask Tsubaki and Kousei for help and they offer to set him with camping gear which will allow him to work in peace. Imagine his surprise when his campground is over-run by meddlers: both the cast of Please Teacher and Please Twins have set up camp around his tent and are intent on including him in their festivities.

He manages to play for a day, but the deadline is looming once again and now that he’s even further behind, he freaks out and heads for the tent and begins to program at a furious pace while keeping everyone away from him. Prepare for a series of events simultaneously weird and funny.

All in all, Please Twins has been downright fun to watch, and I’m already for the next series which might be coming out in Japan next year. Let’s hope that they don’t further ruin Matagu (who was probably one of my favorite characters in Please Teacher) and maybe let him have some happiness.
