SD Gundam Force Volume 04: Unknown Dangers (DVD)
Shute
is having trouble with his homework. He has to write an essay about
friendship. He thinks it’s going to be hard, but then he realizes that
friendship is what the Gundam Force is all about. Just then, Zapper Zaku,
Grappler Gouf, and Destroyer Dom invade. They, too, have learned the
benefits of working together and have developed a powerful new super
attack.
Bel
Wood, meanwhile, has finished his repairs to the Dimensional
Transporter, which was wrecked in a previous battle. Everyone gathers
around to watch him test it, hoping that it will work. But during the
testing, there’s a strange accident, and Shute and the rest of the
Gundam Force find themselves transported to a barren petrified world.
Zero realizes that it is his homeland, Lacroa.
We’re
now up to the fourth disc of SD Gundam Force and the series now starts
working towards it’s main plot… if you could describe the series as
having one. Let’s dive right in:
Episode
10: Gundam Force Triple Attack Faced with the growing collection of failures against the Gundam Force, the Dark Axis Commander orders his minions to start working together to defeat their opponents. The Dark Axis team have developed a new sentai-themed triple attack (that’s just too weird to name here), which will devastate any single opponent. Unfortunately, the entire Gundam Force arrives together and each member is drawn |

off into single combat; after the GF notch individual victories, the Dark Axis combine into their new triple attack. To counter, the Gundam Force develop their own triple attack to defeat their opponents.
Episode
11: The Mystery of Lacroa Part 1: Arrival The
Gundam Force visits Bel Wood once again, this time at the site of the
Dimensional Portal which is finally completed. Bel begins testing the
equipment, but |

Bakunetsumaru insists that he be sent home immediately. During the ensuing “horsing around” the control panel for the portal is smashed, and the Gundam Force is sent to Lacroa, Zero’s homeworld. With its’ defeat, Lacroa is swarming with Dark Axis soldiers all of which can use magic just like Zero. The leader of the Dark Axis forces of Lacroa is Tallgeese, and he has been ordered to find the “Spirit Egg” that will allow him access to the “Spirit Tree”, the main source of power for the world. The egg is being protected by triplets who have survived by hiding, but they are discovered by the Gundam Force. As the group is talking, Tallgeese leads an attack on them; Bakunetsumaru leads an attack on the powerful Tallgeese, but he is knocked back. Making things worse, Tallgeese summons a Griffin which he magically combines with himself.
Episode
12: The Mystery of Lacroa Part 2: Trapped Now facing a “super-powered” Tallgeese, Zero and company are in serious trouble. Taking advantage of the one-sided battle, Tallgeese threatens to throw Zero into the Dark Pit where no magic works. The triplets save Zero by offering Tallgeese the Spirit Egg, but Tallgeese steals the egg and throws everyone into the pit anyways. In one area of the pit, Zero is by himself and unable to summon his sword and shield; Shute is with the triplets in a wasteland; and Bakunetsumaru is with the Captain in a dark pit.
Shute tries to organize a search for the rest of the team, but the triplets don’t seem interested in helping him and say that Zero couldn’t possibly be the savior that they need to free their home. As the group walks around, they are attacked by a Dark Axis robot but Shute can do nothing but run away; thankfully Zero arrives to help out and is able to defeat the robot. The pair then decide that the best action would be to climb out of the pit and link up with the Captain and Bakunetsumaru at the entrance. The other team are trying to escape the dark pit, and the Captain discovers a series of portals that would allow them to “climb” up and out of the pit.
Now that the series has started a longer arc that the episodic approach at the start, the series is beginning to build momentum and becoming more interesting.
