Here we are, about a month and a half away from the Xbox 360 launching in North America. In the last year, Microsoft has had ample time to state its case as to why gamers should run out and buy the system. Now it’s time to take a good, hard look at how they’ve done. Should we be excited about the thing? How’s the software looking? What about long-term prospects for the hardware? What has Microsoft

learned since the launch of the original Xbox? Unless you happen to be made of money, plunking down a several hundred-dollar investment on a new console is no small beans.

That being said we’ll be examining the 360 from a number of angles, seeing how the various Microsoft press events have stacked up, how enticing the software is and how well it may be supported

in the long run, as well as various hardware aspects of the console, such as DVD drives, and the decision to go with two SKUs? There’s a lot of ground to cover here, and we won’t be pulling any punches, so grab yourself something to drink, and make yourself comfortable, because we’re going on one hell of a toboggan ride.
