Nintendo Profits Up Almost 50%
As the company hits the halfway mark in its fiscal year, Nintendo has announced that their profits are up 48% more than that of last year. As of September 30, the company’s profits were at YEN 54.35 billion, compared to YEN 36.6 billion in 2005.
The main reason for the high level of profits comes from the continued success of the DS, and as such Nintendo has upped its forecast for DS hardware sales to 20 million units in its fiscal year instead of their previous estimate of 17 million. However, the company is keeping their estimates for Wii hardware sales at 6 million units.
