Financials Looking Rosier than Expected for Microsoft
As numbers come out for their most recent fiscal quarter, things are looking quite nice nice for Microsoft’s Entertainment and Devices division, which saw revenues up by 70 percent. According to Microsoft CFO Chris Liddell these results are better than the company had hoped.
The company has also announced that they have sold over 6 million Xbox 360s, and have about 4 million Xbox Live users at this time. However, it should be noted that the Entertainment and Devices division is still operating in the red, posting a loss of about $96 million US, though it is much better than the $173 million US loss the company posted last year at this time. One of the reasons for the improvements stated by Microsoft is that it is becoming cheaper to manufacture the Xbox 360.
