War and Warriors: Joan of Arc

It seems whenever a heroine comes along in a game they are almost guaranteed to be scantily clad, buxom, and can hand out merciless punishment with blinding speed on their enemies.  But if these characters weren’t exaggerated as such, would they be all that interesting?  Maybe.  The folks at Enlight Software are planning to walk a fine line between fantasy and reality in their portrayal of a woman with War and Warriors: Joan of Arc.  She’s been sexed-up a bit with the requisite form-fitting armor, and a distinct lack of dingy stinkiness as well as a full-set of teeth (hardly the norm for people of the Middle Ages), but she’s armed to the teeth and ready to give the British a good old fashioned butt kicking in this role-playing game.

At this point the game is looking like a combination between Drakan and the Dynasty Warriors series, with a high level of tactical strategy thrown into the mix as players traverse the nine maps of the game.  Here’s the complete list of features planned for the game thus far…

Features:

Live out the most exciting years in the life of Joan of Arc, the ultimate female warrior, in the ultimate epic battles! As you progress through her campaigns, other great military medieval leaders will join your cause and bring their own unique fighting abilities and characteristics into the fray.

Orchestrate your troops through nine massive maps featuring formidable strongholds, lavishly detailed cities and myriad landscapes, from rolling hills to thick forests and flowing rivers. Experience firsthand the sheer intensity and savage brutality of medieval castle sieges brought to life in amazing lifelike 3D.

Slash and slay enemies from a thrilling third-person perspective view. Wield the sword to your advantage by executing unique combo attacks with perfect timing to devastate the enemy.

Train yourself to master new fighting techniques to unleash your full fighting capabilities, then acquire an increasingly devastating arsenal of weaponry to overwhelm your foes.

Demonstrate your chivalrous aptitude by mastering your timing and precision among dozens of unique attack combos. Train yourself to become the complete warrior.

Valiantly marshal your troops through the thick of gut-wrenching battles and demonstrate your leadership abilities as generalissimo to your troops, country, and king.

Use to your advantage the devastating war machines at hand, such as catapult, trebuchet and battering ram to tear down castle walls, vanquish enemy fortifications, and instill fear in the hearts of your enemies.

Simultaneously control and command vast legions of military units onscreen. Feel the full might of medieval warfare with stunning 3D visuals that push the vanguard of today's hardware to its limits.

Joan of Arc is really squeezing in quite a few features into the game with a very pretty presentation judging from what information has been made available thus far.  At this point the game is due out just in time for Christmas of this year.
