Dynasty
Warriors: Gundam
When
we think about Gundam, images of one-on-one showdowns between chief
protagonists and villains spring to mind.
There is plenty of shouting back and forth, staring each other
down, and all that jazz before someone gets in that fatal (or near
fatal) blow, and
emerges victorious. For all
of these heroic one-on-one brouhahas there are still a whole lot of
mobile suits out there, so what about those guys?
Are they just sitting around, whistling Dixie while Char and
associates do their thing? Of
course not, they’re fighting too, and on a grand scale.
We just never get to see any of that.
However, Koei is about to change that by plunging the Gundam universe into their Dynasty Warriors game engine with a special one-off. Here players will be able to take part in epic battles like one would expect to find in the Dynasty Warriors series, except that instead of controlling the military forces of ancient China, it will be an army of giant robots instead.

Players will be able to select from a number of characters across a broad spectrum of eras in the Gundam series, ranging from the Universal Century to the Future Century. Moreover, it will also be possible to choose to fight for either side of the conflict.
Another aspect of the game that fans may want to keep an eye on |

is
that the mobile suits here will be upgradeable.
The extent of this is unknown, but if it’s anywhere near that
of something like Armored Core, such a feature would be most welcome. Then again, maybe it will be more like some of those Gundam
model-making kits, but on some grand scale, and in-game.
This
game is certainly being built on a solid foundation, as the Dynasty
Warriors series has proven itself to be consistently good over the
years. Now with mobile
suits taking the field instead of ancient Chinese armies, it could prove
a very interesting game indeed as huge armies of even huger robots
clash.
