Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

Uncharted 2 was one of 2009’s top games (actually topping many charts as the game of the year) and it wasn’t hard to see why. Great acting, cinematics, gameplay and graphics all came together in one polished package from the studio that brought us our first taste of Crash Bandicoot in the 90’s.

This time around, Drake and his crew are headed to the desert – in part, according to creative director Amy Henning because “that’s going to be really hard”.
The term “deception” in the title relates to Nathan Drake, the protagonist himself and perhaps has something to do with his identity. Apparently more storyline around his family will be revealed, which of course could have something to do with a similar tie-in for the big-screen adaption of Uncharted (which isn’t expected to be

out until sometime in 2012).

At first I thought it was a bit of a short time frame to pump out another one of these titles, but looking back it seems like the first one was 2007 and the second one 2009 so fall of 2011 is about right for the development cycle that Naughty Dog has in place. I’m personally a little relieved since my gaming schedule for this year already seems

pretty full but I’m excited to see the next game come out.

For me, I’m all about the single player campaign and the improvements here are going to include things like enhanced backwards climbing and the ability to fight more than one enemy at the same time. I’m not quite sure what that means, since I remember in the last one it seemed like bad guys were always all over the place but I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

The multiplayer is an area that is supposed to receive some larger enhancements than anything, so if that is your cup of tea then you will be all excited about this. The story is supposed to include more information about the relationship Drake has with “Sully”.
Naughty Dog is one of the best developers in the world and we look forward to what we will get next year! It’s beginning to seem like it’s far away now.
