Chaos Legion

Games that require players to fight horde upon horde of enemies has come into vogue over the past few years.  The Dynasty Warriors series, Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, State of Emergency, all of them pitted gamers against hundreds of enemies at once in a fierce frenzy of carnage.  Now it looks like Capcom wants in on the action with Chaos Legion, bringing a few new cards to the table.

The plot of the game focuses on two swordsman, Seig Wahrheit and Victor Delacroix.  For

the longest time they were friends, but while Wahrheit is away on a journey Delacroix gets corrupted by an evil force and it’s up to Wahrheit to now track down his former friend and stop him from destroying the world.

Plowing through 13 levels, Chaos Legion will have two modes of play.  Players will be able to choose from going it alone just using Wahrheit in Normal Mode, or having a legion of their own under Wahrheit’s command in Legion Mode.  The units in Legion Mode vary greatly, including archer, bomber, giant, claw, power, sword, and shield legions for players to choose from.

Unlike other games where you must fight, well, legions of enemies, the ability to have a legion of your own will likely bring an interesting, more strategic affect on gameplay, especially since they can be used for offensive and defensive purposes and are comprised of a number of different character classes.  Now all we can do is wait and see if Capcom can make the game good enough that legions of fans will want to go out and buy it.
