Cold Winter

Following the footsteps of games like Splinter Cell, Mission Impossible: Operation Surma and Metal Gear Solid, comes Vivendi Universal’s new game Cold Winter (CW).

You’ll assume the role of British MI6 Operative Andrew Sterling who has been imprisoned in China for spying. After breaking out of prison, Andrew joins a private security firm and continues his old job of hunting terrorists. CW will be played from a first person perspective and also boast a number of multiplayer modes. The developers are keen on releasing a game that delivers a PC shooter like experience for the Playstation 2 (although there was an Xbox version planned but it has been canned).

Features:
Realistic interaction with highly-detailed and life-like environments, featuring real-world physics, searching fallen enemies, and manipulating objects to use as cover.

Intelligent adversaries tactically evaluate situations by taking or creating cover, calling reinforcements or fearlessly charging when cornered.

Up to four-player split-screen off-line multiplayer.

Extremely realistic depiction of zone-specific body damage and rag-doll death animations.

Over 30 real-world weapons depicted in exacting detail enhances the action.

Seven gritty and exotic environments including a Chinese prison, an Egyptian arms fair, and a Siberian submarine yard.

Original storyline brings to life both the heroic and fatally-misguided characters that inhabit the shadowy world of international espionage.

Cold Winter should hit store shelves this January.
