Gradius V

When it comes to classic shooters it doesn’t get much more classic than the Gradius series, one of the pioneering schmup titles of the post game industry crash world, not to mention the origin of the infamous Konami code.  Now the series is about to get a new installment on the Playstation 2 that combines 3D graphics with the old school side scrolling sensibility Gradius has become known for.

In a lot of ways Gradius V is adhering to space shooter conventions with lots of power-ups, huge bosses, and even bigger explosions, but what will make this game stand out from its

predecessors is that this time around players will be able to control the options flying around the ship with the right analogue stick on the Dual Shock controller.

But what a lot of people will probably notice right out of the gates is how amazingly pretty the game looks.  If Konami has an ounce of sense they’ll make sure that Gradius V has a free dribble bib packed in with it, because at this stage in development the game looks very good.

Features:

- Spectacular 3D graphics the best looking Gradius Ever

- New Option Controls feature

- Classic Gradius action with new features and inspired level design

Unfortunately we still have a little bit of waiting to do before Gradius V hits store shelves in February of next year, but on the bright side we could possibly have a very high quality game on our hands in the middle of the post-Christmas slow period if Konami really brings this project together.
