Guilty Gear Isuka

Doing its damnedest to prove to the world that 2D art is still very much alive and kicking, Sammy Studios has been giving fighting game fans a steady dose of visual delights with their Guilty Gear series on the Dreamcast and Playstation 2.  Now fans of the series has a new installment to look forward to with Guilty Gear Isuka.

While there are a few new additions to the roster for this title, what will likely get most game fans’ attention is that Isuka will allow up to four-player simultaneous play, as well as custom fight combos.  Having four people able to play together is often a much-wanted feature that

many fighting game fans just don’t get to see outside of titles like Powerstone, and is very welcome in this installment, most certainly.  As for the custom fight combos, it’ll be interesting to see just how much this feature is able to accommodate the more finicky fighting fans out there.

Features:

- 4 player simultaneous fighting, combo upgrading and entirely new modes of play make this the deepest Guilty Gear ever

- All new fight arenas, and three new characters totaling an amazing 23 fighters in all

- Side-scrolling Boost mode offers an exciting new single-player action game experience

- Blindingly fast play with precise control, an arsenal of killer combos and the ability to play as teams will make masters out of men

- Amazing character design and premise from renowned artist Daisuke Ishiwatari

- Killer new soundtrack heavily influenced by rock-and-roll and heavy metal

Unlike the release of Guilty Gear X2, which quietly hit the seen in the latter stage of Winter 2003, Guilty Gear Isuka is slated for a November 2004 release.  Hopefully this won’t prove suicide for the title, where such a niche game as this could very well fall between the cracks under the deluge of high-profile Christmas titles.
