Legend
of Kay
Cats
and samurai, some might say the two are a match made in heaven.I mean, they made an animated series called Samurai Pizza Cats,
and the show was actually halfway entertaining. Now Capcom is getting in on the act with Legend of Kay, an action
/ adventure game headed to the PS2, which features a cat who also
happens to be a samurai (sorry, there's no pizza in this game, though). The game features a feline protagonist named Kay, as he hacks and slashes
his way through a variety of marginally cuddly environments.
Seeing
what’s in store for the game, Legend of Kay is looking like a
somewhat stripped down, straightforward adventure, as players will have
around 40 moves at their disposal (all based on real kung-fu
moves...although kung-fu is Chinese, while samurai are from Japan.
Hmmm...), but not have to do massive amounts of
finger acrobatics on the control pad to pull them off.The flow of the game seems largely targeted towards casual gamers
who aren’t
looking for anything
overly complicated, and just want to run around fighting bad guys, while
doing some nifty moves.
From
what is known of the story for the game thus far, it looks like Legend
of Kay’s narrative won’t be any more taxing on one’s brain than
the combat will be on their fingers. In a nutshell, the game follows Kay, as he leaves his village to
protect it from the invading troops of Emperor Shun, a large,
power-hungry gorilla.
Europeans have already had a chance to check out
Legend of Kay, since
the title was released out that way earlier this year

when
it was published by JoWood.The
press out that way seemed enjoy the game, so it looks
like gamers on this side of the pond could have a nice, relax gaming
romp when the game comes out in North America later this year.
