Moto GP4

Let’s face it, there just aren’t enough motorcycle racing games out there.  Usually gamers are left to zip around in cars, trucks, go karts, and just about any other possible machine with wheels and an engine on it, yet only a handful of companies out there said to themselves, “Hey, there’s these contraptions with two wheels that require good balance to operate, and go really fast.  They’re called ‘motorcycles’. Let’s make a game featuring them!”  As one of the few publishers to make an effort to bring out bike racing games on a regular basis, Namco is about to do it once again with Moto GP4 this summer on the PlayStation 2.

As is often the case when bringing out a racing game sequel, Namco is following the “More! More! More!” philosophy of game design, as they include 16 GP tracks plus three bonus tracks, a small army of pro racers including legendary racers of the passed, and a ton of

bikes.  Another interesting facet of the game will be that it will include an online mode that supports up to eight players, so people can compete against one another.

The Moto GP series has been well-received over the years from race fans with a fondness for bikes.  With Namco consistently improving on the series with each new installment, hopefully this fourth edition will continue the trend, keeping those interested in the genre happy for quite some time.
