Bullet Witch
The more I see of Bullet Witch, the more I want to play it.
That's a measuring stick I use when looking at upcoming games. Does the first glance catch my interest? Does a second glance and watching some gameplay clips make me want to look a third time? The third time and I'm itching to play it? That's how it is with Bullet Witch. I haven't even played a pre-release build and I want to find out if it's my kind of action game: over-the-top, explosive, loud and features cleavage.
I'm not so sure it's justified because of the distinct lack of acrobatics I've seen, but the first title that comes to mind is BloodRayne. And if the acrobatics are lacking it's only because of the concentration on guns and spells; the guns, upgradeable; a |

total of 27 spells to fool around with. It's a combination of "sexy action, huge guns, and powerful magic."
Sexy action, huge guns and magic? The developers may be in danger of including too much.
Even in the shorts gameplay clips Bullet Witch seems to have some weight. That is, the explosions and |

spells look awesome. This may be due to the complex physics happening in the background. Promising "fully destructible backgrounds", Bullet Witch is not the first game to boast such a feature though in this case it looks like they've pulled it off -- this is no empty promise. And with "massive levels to explore" this means a whole lot of destruction. (In one brief clip, after Bullet Witch calls up a Tornado, a barn is ripped to pieces.)
While I'm harping on the action aspects of Bullet Witch -- it is an action game after all -- there's also a note on the official fact sheet of "deeply developed characters." This is something all action gamers care about. It's not so much about taking on giant mutated things with a lightning bolt or shotgunning zombies or battle tanks on-foot, it's about motivation and character development. Yeah, let me know how that action game turns out.
Like most action games, I have my own reservations about Bullet Witch -- crummy localization, hit detection problems, repetitive action, etc. -- which is why I'm so looking forward to getting my hands on this at the end of February.
