Apocalyptica

As any kid who attended Catholic school can tell you, nuns are some of the most fearsome creatures on the face of the planet. With their beady eyes and holier-than-thou attitude, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise when UK-based developer Extreme FX, a subsidiary of Konami, decided to outfit these elite group of holy women with robotic combat armor and send them to do battle with evil.

Seeking to recover the fumble of Brute Force, Apocalyptica is a third-person action shooter featuring team-based combat. As is the trend for many Xbox games, the big focus is the multiplayer options through Xbox Live, allowing eight simultaneous players with eight character classes from both the sides of Good and Evil.

In the most misguided use of Christian symbolism since the Xeno games, Apocalyptica lets you fight for the church, with a legion of angels, nuns, templars and robots under your command, each with unique abilities. In the fight against Neo-Satan, be prepared to destroy leagues of vampires, wraiths and black knights. Wielding weapons like the Bible Basher and the Martyr Gun, you'll battle your way through the colonized planet of
Jerusalem V, onto to the starship SS Ariziel, through the ruins known as Nu-Hades and finally through the depths of Hell themselves.
