Fable

When a game is hyped to be the best RPG ever, nobody notices. When Peter Molyneux has a hand in the project, everybody wants to know about it. Big Blue Box Studios, led by Simon and Dene Carter, have done an incredible job in creating a hype for the game Fable. After all when your game is supposed to go toe-to-toe with Halo 2, how can money signs not flash in your eyes. This game though, can be as good as its hype or even better.

The game takes place in the fantasy world of Albion. After a normal childhood, reality teaches you a tough lesson as your family and pet are murdered and you are thrust into the world alone and unguided. Live the next 70 years of your live with the path you choose. Will you be evil, a thief lurking in the shadows or good, or maybe the paladin coming to the rescue of a damsel in distress? Whichever path you choose will shape the way you look, act and even NPC's reactions to you.

Features

-Your actions shape your body. Wield a heavy sword all day and your muscles bulge and likewise weave the arts and witness power crackle at your fingertips.

- 'Will' system. Will is the Fable equivalent of MP and the unique thing about this system is that frequent use speeds up aging. Ever wonder why wizards always look so old? Now you know.

-Follow the storyline and do good deeds or just run around and creat havo. The choice is yours.

-Weapons can affect your rank with NPC's Will you be known as an almighty Blademaster or the Frying Pan assasin?

-Woo the ladies. If you can't score in real life at least you can in this game. Risk everything for love or ignore it altogether.

-Gain fans and followers. What can be more fun than hacking up little kids dressed like you?

-Co-op Play. Play with a friend (If you have any that is). One character has to be main one which affects NPC's reactions etc. Make the perfect combinations of characters. An evil character who mows down all the enemies in the game and a good character to make towns bow down to you.

-Champion or manipulate an ever-changing land with competitive and cooperative heroes, dynamic weather systems and deformable environments. Interact with teeming cultures, creatures, and citizens from various towns and cities.

-Look like a warrior. Earn battle scars during your quest for glory. NPC's do the same. Hack up a little kid while you venture through a town. Come back 20 years later and he'll hold those scars and will be after your throat.

-Every action has a reaction. Slay some teenaged boys? The next town could get word of this. The guards will be waiting...

This debut title will propel BBB to glory if it does do well. And to all the people at BBB who have put so much into the project that they're on the brink of insanity (They actually have a board with odds on which employee will crack first) let's hope it does.
