Since the dawn of Duck Hunt man has been delighted by the simple pleasure of pulling a trigger and killing an animated creature. This has been followed up many times, usually originating in the arcade. Games leading the light gun genre like Time Crisis and Virtual Cop have often been ported and with their respective peripheral to the consoles. While the Silent Scope series has made three appearances on the Playstation 2 alone it has yet to incorporated the signature sniper rifle from the arcade that makes it appealing in the arcades to begin with. Konami has finally smartened up: the latest installment of Silent Scope on the Xbox will include light gun support.

This new venture into the Silent Scope world of a counter-terrorism sharpshooter won’t seem all that new to followers of the series. Anyone who tends not to fit the typical “Loner Sniper” profile will be glad to hear you can hook up with a friend and play tactically and co-operatively against terrorists or if you so choose you may engage in contests for shooting supremacy. Also adding to the excitement are the inclusion of hidden stages, multiple endings and routes, and over 50 levels of exciting missions. For Silent Scope enthusiasts who wish to round out their collection or those who hope to own every installment in one title just so they may shoot something – Silent Scope Complete is one to watch.
