Lost
in Blue
Ever
wonder what it would be like to get stranded on a deserted island?Well, put down the coconut walkie-talkies, monkey-powered
elevators, and eight course banana-oriented gourmet meals, Gilligan,
because Konami has a cold, hard dose of reality for you, bub…at least
in a handheld gaming sort of way, with Lost in Blue, a new RPG headed to
the Nintendo DS.
As
one would suspect, the game follows a teenaged boy who gets himself
stranded on an island, and must now do his best to survive. In time, he discovers that he is not alone when he meets a 17
year-old girl who also got washed ashore. Now as tempting as it is to assume that this will lead to some
hot, hot luvin’ straight out of Blue Lagoon, that shan’t be the
case
here,
as the two must work together to get enough food, and shelter to
survive, so forget about the game providing some suspiciously convenient
opportunities for the two to huddle to stay warm.
Among
the things players will have to do is hunt for food, cook it up, and
make sure they have adequate shelter to survive. There will be plenty of opportunity to play as either of the
characters, as they will both provide unique takes on trying to survive
on this island.There will
also be plenty of time to explore the island, and see what sorts of
mysteries there are to unravel during the two’s unplanned stay there.

At
this point, Lost in Blue is slated for a Fall 2005 release. With such a different take on the RPG genre, it will be
interesting to see how gamers embrace the title when it finally does
come out.
