Mega Man ZX

Being one of the most popular series’ of all time, and no doubt one of the most successful, it wasn’t strange that Mega Man games took off in the handheld market as well. In that same vein it isn’t a real shocker that Capcom has announced their next Mega Man game, Mega Man ZX, for the Nintendo DS. This time around though, it looks like the Blue Bomber will have some new features in his arsenal.

From the sounds of things the biggest new addition will be the Biometal system. This time around your character will change models and abilities by gaining different Biometals. These Biometals will be held by boss characters, but you have

to be careful in combat. If you use the wrong weapon types on a boss than you may damage the Biometal he carries, and you’ll have to get it repaired in order to use it to its full extent. Using these different biometals will allow you to unlock additional areas of the map, as well.

Different Biometals will also make new information available to

you throughout the game, as hints and info will pop up on your bottom screen, while the action takes place on top. Likewise, your bottom screen will display useful info on boss robots’ weak points, locations of hidden items, and helpful tidbits.

Another big departure from the series is the ability to choose a main character. A boy named Vent will be the stronger of the two, while the girl Aile is smaller, and has greater agility. Each of these characters will have unique cut-scenes as well, perhaps helping to add some replay value to the game. All of this leaves one wondering where exactly Mega Man himself makes an appearance, though.
