WireWay
Games like PixelJunk Eden have taught gamers that flinging things around a screen can be surprisingly entertaining. Ditto for Yoshi’s Touch and Go. Now it looks like Konami wants to hop on board this gravy train with a game of their own called WireWay that they have headed to the Nintendo DS.
The game has a little space creature walking around a planet. Instead of controlling this creature, though, players move the world around it in order to help it reach its destination. The closest thing that one can do in terms of controlling the creature itself is poking it with the stylus pen, which causes it to jump in the air, and is ultimately the catalyst to get most of the other things in the game to happen, or so it would seem anyway.

We don’t know much about the environments to be traversed in WireWay, but their aesthetic is certainly easy on the eyes. Going for a more minimalist look, the central feature of the game’s graphics appears to be more focused on color usage than detail.
The whole game runs on a very simple premise. What may prove the biggest |

challenge for Konami in making this game is ensuring that things don’t get too repetitive, but if they are able to keep the worlds fresh, and unique they could have a fun little puzzle game on their hands.
Flicking around characters, and manipulating environments has worked in the past on the rare occasions that other games have explored such concepts. In the case of WireWay, it does have the advantage of being played on the DS with that handheld’s touch screen. It’s one thing to use a gamepad to play such a game, but here we'll actually be able to flick their stylus to make things happen, adding a far more tactile layer to the game.
As of now, the game is due out this October. If Konami can make this game fun from beginning to end, WireWay could make for an interesting title to pack along on a trip somewhere.
