Dead
to Rights II: Hell to Pay
When
the original Dead to Rights came out it didn’t really dazzle a huge
number of people, relegating itself to the category of, “Yup, it’s
another action game.”The
strange thing about the game is that there was a lot to like about it,
especially it’s moments of ridiculously over-the-top violence.Taking another swing at the series, Namco is taking Jack Slate
and is furry pal, Shadow to Hong Kong for more action.
The
official company line on the Dead to Rights II describes the game as a
“cinema-style action” title.Hopefully, this cinematic element will be done tastefully, unlike
the legions of other games to be released over the last year that
can’t make up their minds whether they’re games or CG movies.
Judging
from what information Namco has made available thus far, it appears that
Dead to Rights II isn’t trying to reinvent the wheel when it comes to
action games, so much as tighten it up.They are planning to keep the action fast, while tossing in
more moves
to disarm enemies, and allow for greater interaction between Jack and
Shadow.

Features:
-
Shadow
K-9 fighting companion, Shadow, assists in combat and retrieves items
during conflicts.
- Disarm Moves
Thirteen brutal new disarms moves to take down enemies in the heat of
battle. More than 25 disarm moves in total!
-Melee Fighting
Lightning-fast melee fighting system allows Jack to collect and use
melee weapons throughout his environment, including bats, pipes, 2x4s,
machetes and swords.
-Weapons
Jack’s massive arsenal now includes heavy artillery such as mini-guns
and shoulder-mounted RPGs. Also at Jack’s disposal are devastating
land mines, flechette grenades that shred human flesh and shotguns with
incendiary shells that set your enemies ablaze.
Sometimes
it’s nice to have a game that just lets players grab a weapon, and go
to town on some bad guys, or forego the weapon and do things the old
fashion way with fists flying.It
looks like this is largely what Namco is going after; hopefully the end
product will be something to keep gamers busy for a while.
