Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel

Most people who are fans of PC role-playing have come across the Fallout series at one point or another. It really set the benchmark for how modern top view perspective RPGs would work, even before Baldur’s Gate and the Infinity Engine stepped onto the scene. Now PS2 and Xbox owners will have a chance to step into this post-apocalyptic world. However, instead of being an RPG in the tradition of the series, this installment of Fallout will be a top view action title.

The player is put into the game as a member of the Brotherhood of Steel, a sect who has chosen to embrace technology as a means to bring a little peace to their war torn world. Players will have to fight the a mix of radioactive, mutated freaks with assorted melee and ranged weapons as they make their way through the game. It’ll be interesting to see if this approach to the Fallout series will be as readily embraced as when Baldur’s Gate made the leap to action gaming.
