Midway Arcade Treasures 2 |

Midway recently announced the upcoming release of this second volume in its Arcade Treasures series. Compilations of arcade and console hits of the past have become quite common in the past two generations and though they are appreciated by old school gamers like myself, they haven't really made much of an impact on younger gamers. Midway Arcade Treasures 2 might just change that. The reason? Arcade Treasure 2 features the first three Mortal Kombat games in all their arcade glory. Considering the continued success on the series on this generation of consoles, Mortal Kombat's presence might be enough to move units, but Arcade Treasures 2 features even more goodies, including games from two other series that see continued success, Gauntlet 2 and Spyhunter 2. Add to these some absolutely brilliant game from the Midway catalog, like Xenophobe and Championship Sprint (one of my all-time favorites), and we are left with what should be one of the best compilation packages yet.
Midway plans to ship Arcade Treasures 2 simultaneously for all three current systems in the fourth quarter of this year.
