Predator:
Concrete Jungle
Vivendi
Universal has been all over a whole slew of movie titles recently, which
have ranged from decent (Van Helsing) to freaking amazing (Riddick).
Next in the lineup is Predator: Concrete Jungle. While undoubtedly
created to cash in on this summer's Alien vs. Predator movie, the game
focuses solely on everyone's favorite neighborhood alien headhunter.
Rather than the first-person based shooters we've come to know and
desire, Concrete Jungle is a third person action shooter coming this
fall to the Playstation 2 and Xbox.
Taking
place in both the Mafia-drenched 1930s, as the Predator beings his
crusade against urban organized crime. Later levels pick up in the
future, as your Predator takes revenge. Which results in lots of the
killing we all love. At your disposal are several scanners that will aid
in your hunting and killing, including thermal and neuro scanners, in
addition to the signature cloaking technology. In addition to the
traditional speargun, you can kill with wristblades, plasmacasters and
combisticks. This crazy Predator-through-time storyline is authored by comic
writer Grant Morrison, so anyone familiar with that name should get
quite excited.
Predactor:
Concrete Jungle is being designed by Eurocom, the guys behind Sphinx and
the Cursed Mummy, Buffy: Chaos Bleeds and 007: Nightfire – not the
most stunning of records, but if they avoid the repetetive nature that's
sometimes inherent to games like this, they could have a stylish action
shooter on their hands.
