Spawn
Spawn has quickly become one of comic-doms well-known characters, thanks no doubt to his creator, Todd McFarlane, who re-invented Spider-Man during his time with Marvel. Spawn has an interesting persona: an agent of Hell with a conscious. If you know anything of the comics (movies, action figures) you know what kind of ride you'll be in for with this title.
Spawn has made some gaming appearances before, most notably Spawn, a fighter on the Dreamcast (and will be featured in the Xbox version of Soul Calibur II). This title is more about straight-up action. Namco had a playable build at E3 and it looked and played quite a bit like most 3rd Person action games. Of course, most 3rd Person action games don't have a character as versatile Spawn as the centerpiece. Not only will spawn have access to a roster of weapons but his Hell Powers and costume will play roles as well. But on with the information:
Spawn,
based on Todd McFarlane’s best-selling comic book character, is a 3-D
action/adventure game, where Spawn is caught between factions in the
battle of Good vs. Evil. Players
will encounter a variety of enemies through more than 30 interactive and
destructible environments, as Spawn struggles to break free of the
controlling forces of Heaven and Hell.
The game will feature all of Spawn’s distinctive abilities
including superhuman strength, hand-to-hand combat techniques, an
arsenal of weaponry, Hell Powers, and his living symbiotic costume.
Features: More
than 30 levels of game play to explore across seven environments.
Comic
book creator, Todd McFarlane, contributed to the storyline and game play
elements.
Stunning
graphics and magnificently rendered 3-D environments.
Interactive
and destructible environments.
Battle enemies from both Heaven and Hell.
Spawn is scheduled to ship Fall 2003
