Wars Republic Commando
Star
Wars fans, by now, probably have heard of Star Wars Battlefront, a
military inspired Star Wars game. LucasArts has yet to release another
military inspired Star Wars game known as Star Wars Republic Commando.
Set
during the Clone Wars, between Attack of the Clones and the upcoming
Star Wars: Episode III, Star Wars Republic Commando will be released
fall 2004 for the PC and the Xbox. Players will become an elite member
of the Republic’s Special Operations force.
This
first-person shooter will have dark tones that are set by mission
briefings. Players will lead their squads on many assignments including
hostage rescue, infiltration/data retrieval, elimination, assault,
sabotage, and reconnaissance operations. Your team will consist of three
men and is controlled through an intuitive and accessible "smart
squad" command system, based on squad markers and stances. This
game features more than fifteen levels, and will have both familiar and
new Star Wars settings and characters, including the mysterious General
Grievous and his bodyguards from the upcoming Star Wars: Episode III.
Players
will have a variety of weapons including the DC-17m repeating blaster
rifle. There will also be attachments for the weapon allowing for sniper
rifle and anti-armor weaponry. Players also have the ability to pick up
and use enemy weapons including the Trandoshan slaver shotgun and
Geonosian elite beam weapon as well as several types of thermal
detonators.
Star
Wars Republic Commando will also be online, for both PC and Xbox Live.
The game offers a variety of multiplayer modes for the PC and Xbox
including deathmatch, team deathmatch and capture the flag.

Internet play on PC.
Star
Wars Republic Commando seems to be shaping up as a decent looking Star
Wars game. Fans of the Star Wars military side might be in for a real
special treat.
