As American Idol’s continued fervent popularity easily attests, there are millions out there dreaming about being the next big singing sensation. Even those who have absolutely no singing talent whatsoever, as American Idol also proves in many of those audibly painful audition episodes that open each season.

Fortunately for those vocally challenged wannabes, there isn’t actual singing talent required to be the next song star of the virtual living-simulation world of Will

Wright’s Sims. In the newest expansion pack for The Sims 3, everybody can be the next superstar on stage in The Sims 3 Showtime Limited Edition.

time to rise from the lowly ranks of the career ladder and climb up to the echelon. But, just as with all Sims careers, eventually all the hard work will eventually pay off. Gamers will become entertainment idols of the Simlish singing and performing big stage inside the new arena that will be the star-making center for those wannabe Sims celebrities. Reaching that ultimate stage results in some graphically spectacular performances, too.

Focusing once again on the social media aspects that the developers have integrated into the Sims 3, gamers can “share” their performing Sims with friends, having those Sims perform within the virtual worlds of others. Gamers just have to make sure those Sims are polished shiny in their performances, though, otherwise there’s the risk that the star Sims who are big fish in one Sims pond don’t drown in another.

Playing off the huge popularity contests on television that has everybody that watches them dreaming of that being them on stage being adored by millions, the Sims 3 provides that same level of daydreaming-of-stardom to individual Sims 3 players with The Sims 3 Showtime Limited Edition.
