The sharpness of the graphics have undeniably improved the look of the game over the original, but it hasn't received a full-on remastering in the vein of Sony's Shadow of the Colossus and Ico. Much of the game looks somewhat stretched and, frankly, old.

complaints, if that's what they are, recede to the background as the game progresses.

The same "tank" controls -- not being able to move and shoot at the same time -- are still frustrating. No matter how many games Resident Evil 4 influenced or how groundbreaking it was for the series, those controls are still an irritation, especially so many years later when many other games have honed that particular aspect of the over-the-shoulder shooter/action genre, like Gears of War.

And there's still the obnoxious escort aspects that nearly made me quit and/or smash a controller in outright anger. That might have to do with some recent sleep deprivation more than anything else but I seem to recall not being so in love with those parts the first time around.

The Wii version is probably the ultimate version of Resident Evil 4, but this version isn't too shabby. Or just hold off for another 4 years until Capcom releases the seemingly inevitable 10 Year Anniversary Special Re-Mastered Edition. I bet the tank controls won't be replaced, but it'll look even better.
