I’m a big fan
of comic-to-action figure translations and McFarlane has done a terrific
job of bringing Abbey Chase to plastic perfection. The attention to
detail is good, right down to the mole on her cheek. When set up on the
base, Abbey makes a good display piece. What is
lacking is articulation.
There are 7 points of articulation but the poses that Abbey can be put
into aren’t numerous. Mostly she can point her gun menacingly or slyly
by her side. The base itself is solid and very detailed but the bamboo
poles are easily knocked out of their sockets. The poles are small and
could be lost easily. Same goes for her gun. Another problem with the
gun is that it doesn’t fit easily in her hand. It felt like I was
going to snap her hand off trying to get her to hold it. The paint job
is good, without oversplash or other markings.
Bottomline,
this is more a display piece than an action figure, but

what a display
piece! There are three other figures in this series: Natalia Kassle,
Sydney Savage, and Major Maxim. Abbey can be seen in THQ’s recent
Danger Girl – The Game for the Playstation.
Number
of seconds it took my sister to be offended by this action figure: 2.
