Bounding Tick

by Bandai

Every fan of the Tick comic books and the animated television show should have at least one Tick figure, no matter how small or large.

Bounding Tick is a great likeness of the Tick. The sculpting is very good. Articulation is limited but that doesn’t detract from the likeability of this figure. This is a figure

to be played with, not to be stored. But if you like keeping your figures mint-on-card at least display it for everyone to see. Then someone will ask, "How much for Bounding Tick?" To which you can reply, "$20 (US) or $5 loose."

The Tick has always claimed to be "nigh invulnerable." My son and I carried out some simple experiments to determine the truth of

this statement. We started by trying to flush him down the toilet. A few hours and a massive bill from a plumber later we carried out our next experiment: The Microwave Factor. Before we could get started my wife came home and stopped us. For test three we decided to put
him through a cycle in the dryer. After forty-minutes the Tick came through with no marks on him. Test four consisted of us dropping large rocks on him.

Surprisingly, he survived in one piece, although one of his antennae was slightly bent. Definitely a solid figure and worthy of the title Nigh Invulnerable.

This toy is a lot of fun to play with but can also quite easily sit on the shelf and look good. The "bounding" feature is easy to operate. Basically, he’s spring-loaded. You push him down then let him bound. You won’t be picking him out of the chandelier but the effect is still fun and fits the character.
