Darth Maul Mega-Collectible

by Applause

Villain figures always sell faster than the good guys do. This is because the bad guys are usually cooler to look at and come with better accessories. And in this case the theory applies.

The sheer size of this figure allows for excellent detail, especially the head. The horns and tattoos, coupled with his fearsome expression, give Darth Maul that "I’ll kill you then strangle this innocent puppy" look. He’s rotten to the core! The detail of his clothes are good and are sculpted in such a way as to look like he’s caught in mid-motion. His two-handed light saber is accurately represented. Dim the lights and turn him at the waist to activate his light-up light saber action. (2 "AA" batteries required but not included, fit in his back.) His only point of

articulation is his neck. Though, his head does look good in any position. He stands easily and is well balanced so he doesn’t get knocked over easily. The light saber halves fit nicely where they’re supposed to but little kids have a tendency to insert them in their ears.

For a perfect display get the Obi-Wan and Qui-Gonn figures, also with light-up light sabers. (They have no points of articulation but look fantastic.)

My one-year old likes pitting Darth Maul against the Hulk. The Hulk usually wins.
