Of
all the Ultima Online figures, Juggernaut had the most play potential of
the bunch.Unfortunately,
he falls short – more accurately, he just falls over.
Juggernaut’s
instability brings down both the Craftsmanship and Playability scores by
a large margin.The fault
lies with the basic design of his wheelbase. One wheel sits directly underneath / inside him and the other
wheel sticks out the side, kind of like a sidecar. You would think the sidecar wheel would offer stability.Nope, not even close.McFarlane
has included a small support leg that provides the stability.Lose that support and you’re screwed – freestanding him is
rendered impossible. (And the support is made of clear plastic making it
harder to find if you do misplace it.)A handbrake to stop the main wheel from turning might have been a
solution to keep him standing; however, it would not have solved the
playability problem.He’d
be a good figure to send zipping across the floor but instead he falls
on his side, which is a lot less fun than crashing him through Lego
walls and piles of Hot Wheels.
Juggernaut
has the expected highly detailed sculpt and good paint job that is the
hallmark of McFarlane.The
arms are especially high in detail and articulation.Much care and attention was paid to Juggernaut’s head with lots
of various tubing as accents.For
obvious reasons, he’s not very poseable. His “I’m going to run you over” stance is pretty much all
there is – but with his arms in different positions. On the plus side, he fits in perfectly with the rest of
the
Ultima Online crowd. If you’re strictly into displaying your action figures –
the only time
you touch them is when they’re removed from the package
– Juggernaut is a pretty good buy for his imposing look and size.
Playing
with Juggernaut is frustrating to say the least. As mentioned above, the fault with the wheels limits the
possibilities.However, if
you don’t need to race Juggernaut around – like if you played with
him in the backyard as a mechanic to your RC cars or grabbing GI Joes
with his right "hand" – there is some fun
to be had.Juggernaut has

accessories to lose
(except the critical support leg) so you don’t
have to worry about him being incomplete.Be warned though, his right arm is easy to pop out (at least on
the review figure) and the many hoses can be ripped off.
Overall,
Juggernaut is a figure that misses the mark in both playability and
craftsmanship scores due to a critical fault. But if you don’t touch your figures, he makes a solid display
piece.
