While
the traditional, slick looking Spawn is often the most popular look for
the comic books hero; his medieval alter ego has always been a welcome
change of pace. This edition is no exception. All of the detail that you
would expect from a McFarlane toy are there, some nice accessories, and
just enough points of articulation to get the job done. However, this is
a display piece through and through. While you could get away with
playing with the thing, sticking it in a good pose and putting it on a
shelf is what Medieval Spawn II is really all about.
The
points of articulation on this figure are more or less setup in a manner
that allows what seem to be 101 possible poses for Spawn to be in while
winding up to really let someone have it with his gigantic broadsword.
For those of you looking to put this figure on display and leave it at
that then this figure will be great for you. However, if you’re
looking for something that may actually be played with, this Spawn
doesn’t fit the bill. When your hero looks like he
dropped a load in
his pants when your playing with him because of how the legs are setup,
somehow he just isn’t all that heroic anymore.
This
Spawn is a very nice addition to any action figure collection, unless of
course the collection consists entirely of cutesy toys. Otherwise, this
is a very nice figure with a lot of detail, some nice accessories
(skulls, chain, spear, and a very nice stand), and it looks good on a
shelf. Just don’t expect to be able to play with it much.
