Metal Gear Solid: Solid Snake and Meryl Silverburgh Special Edition by McFarlane Toys

Note: Meryl does not come with grapple in Special Edition.

If you like videogames, action figures, and exquisite craftsmanship, then you will probably just love these two figures from McFarlane Toys. The sheer level of detail

is right up there with other releases from the company. Meryl has detail right down to her hair, Snake looks positively bad-assed, and the weapons selection and detail is fantastic.

However these features make the figures suffer from a mild case of look-but-don’t-touch-itus, as they are just beautiful to look at, but a temptation to fiddle with them, putting them

into zillions of possess and generally wearing them down is very tempting. Unfortunately the fiddle factor could directly equate to losing the myriad of weapons, and loosen the joints beyond repair. If you have the money to buy two of each action figure you get, one for display, the other for play, then knock yourself out, but this is a special edition. Find a nice bit of shelf space, slap it up, look at it with starry-eyed wonder, and leave it at that.
