P ig
Cop (Duke Nukem)
by Resaurus

My favourite in the Duke Nukem action figure line
by the "why God, why?!" defunct Resaurus is the awesome Pig Cop – though merely
an unimportant, much-cloned enemy in Duke Nukem 3D, the figure stands out as one
of the highlights of my large

action figure collection.
Standing just under 6" tall, the Pig Cop is a picture-perfect plastic version of
the policeswine from the game - he's detailed perfectly, from his hooves, up to
his brown-muscley hair which covers his body, to his realistic police uniform
(which is bursting at the seams from the big muscles), all the way to his scary

with glowing red eyes and mohawk which runs all the way down his back. Despite
being a plasticised version of a pixellated monster, he is detailed enough to be
real, and I love it. Highlights include a shot-up bulletproof jacket, which is
removable and has "LARD" written on it instead of LAPD. Another cool feature is
a bush tail, which pokes out of his pants, which is creepily well done. The
sculpting, paint and detail is all top notch, the best of the line.
Pig Cop's articulation is also great while not wrecking any of the detail or
overall look; he has joints at the arms, sleeves, wrists, neck, midsection,
legs, and even his mouth, which can be opened or closed. Very cool! Despite only
having one real pose, the Pig Cop's limb movement allows him to hold all of his
weapons and be put in some great attack poses – and the mouth articulation gives
him some slightly different facial expressions, or at least gives him the chance
to bite Duke. Imaginative collectors will find fun ways to have him posed and
attacking – just mucking around with Pig Cop is a lot of fun.
Further, Pig Cop's weapons and accessories are perfect; first off, his
pump-action shotgun, which actually pumps and includes 4 detailed bullets
strapped to the side. I love this gun – the pump-action is superb, and not only
can Pig Cop hold it, but so can Duke, giving him the chance to pick it up and
blow some others away after he knocks off the Pig Cop. With the Pig Cop's
strange hoof-hands, it's hard for him to hold weapons. Resaurus got around this
by putting peg holes in his hoofs, and pegs on his weapons, so that he can hold
the shotgun in his right hand and pump with the left. Although his left hoof
can't quite hold the pump, it's a moot point – he can hold the gun threateningly
anyway. Secondly, he comes with an altered nightstick (with a bloody knife
attached, of course). Holding in his left hand, Pig Cop can happily stab and
kill anyone who gets in his way – the blood on the knife is very nicely
splattered, more realistically than the recent McFarlane's Monsters, and Pig
Cop's arm articulation fully supports attacking with the nightstick – very nice.
Thirdly, he features a removable bulletproof vest as mentioned before, which
fits nicely on him with pegs, or can be removed to show his torn police uniform
underneath. Finally, he comes with a gas mask, which fits over his long snout to
protect him from any nasty gases. All of the accessories maintain the high
standard of detail and sculpt perfected by the figure and are most impressive.
Changing the different accessories is fun and gives Pig Cop even more
playability, of which he has heaps. Pig Cop is highly durable, and his
articulation supports some rough play. With so many different and
interchangeable extras, you can put several Pig Cops against Duke for lots of
fun Nukem action! Pig Cop is in scale with the Duke figure from this line, and
will surely impress any collector or player who likes the Duke Nukem 3D game.
Overall, I love this figure – not only for my Duke figure display, but also with
other police figures, like the cops in the Simpsons, or the Starrs, for a bit of
a mix. Much recommended!
