Princess Kashmir (The Simpsons) by Playmates

Finally, a Simpsons figure with a dose of sensuality!  Patti and Selma just didn’t cut it.

Princess Kashmir appeared in one of the first seasons of the Simpsons and hasn’t been seen much since, which is why is so good to see the action figure.  Like most of the other Simpson figures, Princess Kashmir stands 5 1/2" tall and is very accurate to her cartoon likeness, right down to the big eyelashes and bikini with the streaming “silk” tassels.

Poseability is actually good.  As is standard with the other figures of the series, she only has 4 points of articulation: shoulders, neck and waist.  But no matter how you position the arms, neck or waist, Kashmir still looks like she’s dancing -- a definite credit to the sculptors.  Keeping her on her feet is another matter entirely.  Unlike most of the other figures, she

won’t remain standing for long unless you install her on an Intelli-tronic base or prop her against one of the recent diorama sets.

Kashmir is in many ways the answer to many fans of the Simpsons.  By that I mean, me.  Not simply because of the sex appeal, but she comes with the one of the best accessories: the incriminating photo of Homer dancing with her.  This allowed me to direct entirely new (and fairly adult) episodes.  However, the figure itself is not so risqué as to invite unwanted questions from youngsters than may play with her (like, say Witchblade).  She’s

another Simpsons figure that fits right in with all the other figures, making here very playable.  The only two downsides to the whole package are the small accessories that can be misplaced and her tassels that can be ripped off with not much effort.

Losing accessories is offset by the fact you should have plenty of other accessories available at this point.  This is, after all, series 13.  Ripping off a tassel can be repaired, but the material used in Kashmir’s construction doesn’t respond that well to glue -- mostly because you don’t have a lot of surface area to work with.

Is she worth adding to your Simpsons collection?  Of course!  Playability and poseability are almost equal and she has more sex appeal than any other female figure from the Simpsons line.
