Spawn i.7 (Spawn 26)

by McFarlane Toys

gunslinger spawn

The first thing you’ll notice about “gunslinger” Spawn (based on the cover of Spawn #7) is that he seems a little taller than typical 6” figures. That’s because he is taller than typical 6” figures. Plus, he’s close to the same coloring of Spawn 8 from Series

25 that I dubbed “Technicolor Spawn,” which mean he really stands out on a shelf.

He possesses some very good display properties but his articulation is simply lip service. He has articulation only to satisfy the definition of “action figure.” There are a few seam joints, which allow a modicum of movement, but not enough to really allow for radically different

poses or even much subtle movement for that matter. Gunslinger Spawn is all about display.

He has two removable accessories: a gun for each hand. Other accessories are glued to his body, thereby eliminating any chance of losing them. This was a good move on the part of McFarlane because it is suck a display figure. There is still a little variation possible with the guns. Instead of having the gun held by the handle, it can actually be forced to be held by the grip (as demonstrated in the picture). With the gun held by the handle, it’s a perfect match for the mini-poster that comes packed with the figure.

Stability is high since the cape comes down to ground level and wraps around his ankles creating a base without actually having a base. It also helps that he has no articulation below his neck.

Although I’m a little miffed that McFarlane has somewhat squandered the chance to make Gunslinger Spawn something really special. Instead we get regular, old special with some great color and very good sculpt. It’s worth a purchase even if it’s just for display.
