Thunder
Hawk is an American Indian fighter in Street Fighter. He is not, by any
means, a fan favorite, but I can see why any Street Fighter fan,
including myself, would be going nuts for this monster. T.Hawk is taller
than the average 6” figure and this includes Series 1’s Sagat. He is
approximately 8” tall with over 20 points of articulation.
T.Hawk’s
sculpt is superb and has great balance. His muscles are detailed and
everything from his jacket, to the feather on his head looks believable
(at least in a “pulled from the videogame” way). Usually big guys
tend to lack in articulation, but T.Hawk keeps me happy. I’ve grown to
appreciate articulation over the last six month or so and I really dig
what SOTA has done with the Street Fighter license. Even though he has
quite a bit of articulation, I must admit that it’s hard to pose him
in his special moves from the game. Another thing that seems to be a bit
more unfortunate is that he has some loose joints on his legs. This may
just be some bad luck on my end so I can’t speak on behalf of everyone
who bought this figure.
SOTA
likes to use Udon’s Street Fighter comic books for their source
material. Blanka coming with rings for chains on anklets is given proof.
What I really like about SOTA is that they’ve combined the comic’s
anime sensibility with a realistic look. This includes giving the figure
a realistic nose, mouth and the appearance of texture from the use of
paint. His paint application is great by the way. SOTA prevents bleeding
as best they can and it shows. The pain application on his clothing
looks believable as if it were really made from denim.
Besides
his two closed fists, T.Hawk comes with two huge flat hands. He also
comes with an eagle that can be pegged into his shoulder. I was very
disappointed that he didn’t come with another head. An angry T.Hawk
head would’ve looked great! No need to fear though, because SOTA has
promised us accessory packs in the near future. They take customer
feedback seriously and make it their highest priority.
Street
Fighter fans, I’m telling ya, don’t overlook T.Hawk because he’s
not one of the more popular characters. He would make a fine addition to
anyone’s Street Fighter collection.
