The
Heap is one of those rare figures that is fascinating and yet totally
disgusting in its putridness.
This figure has
lots of accessories. Most of them are firmly imbedded in its body. There
are shards of glass, a toilet seat, an old tire, a meat cleaver, various
pipes and springs, and a good selection of skeletal remains that all
protrude hideously from his limbs and torso. The unattached accessories
are a few bones and a skull. These can be fit neatly into the Heap’s
cavernous mouth, then released in a barf-like action.
Colouring is
perfect. The Heap is made from garbage and it looks like he just emerged
from a dump. The teeth are brown and rotted. The browns and greens used
evoke perfect images of rotting things. The detail is excellent,
especially the hands and face. The feet are big so
standing the Heap is
no problem. There are ten points of articulation and they allow for a
very good variety of menacing poses. No matter what poses the Heap is
forced into he will not fall down. This alone makes it worth purchasing.
Playability
is affected by the amount of sharp bits. You’re mom always told you
not to run with scissors, I’m telling you not to run with this figure!
Playing in the garden or a dirt pile is the way to get the most play
value out of the Heap. And when you’re not playing with this figure it
makes a pretty good desk display (especially if you work for a
sanitation company).
