This is not a drill! New UCS Millennium Falcon is available today!

This is not a drill! New UCS Millennium Falcon is available today!

The Millennium Falcon is maybe the most iconic ship from the most iconic movie series of all time.  As such, it’s easy fodder for fantastic Lego sets.  There has already been an excellent UCS edition (10179) and a recent edition based off of the Falcon from The Force Awakens (75105).  So what could Lego possibly bring to the table with yet another version?  Oh, I don’t know, maybe the largest Lego set ever put on the market?  7,541 pieces easily sets the record.  Those pieces will cost you a cool $800, but if you’re going to buy the largest Lego set ever sold, at least it’s going to be awesome.  Let’s take a look at some of the notable features.

A New Hope or The Force Awakens?

Both! The amazing build can easily switch between trilogies simply by removing/replacing a few pieces, most notably the inclusion, or absence, of the main dish on top.  That’s great and all, but what about old Han vs. young Han?  Worry not, the set comes with minifigurine sets from both the old and recent trilogies.

Speaking of Minifigurines…

The full rundown of the ten included:  Original trilogy: Leia, Han, C-3P0.  New triology: Old Han, Rey, Finn, BB-8.  Chewbacca is also included, he covers both.  These aren’t just re-packed figures either, many are exclusives.  The original trilogy figures are modeled after The Empire Strikes back, Han and Leia are completely new designs and include the two-sided heads with the back side having them wear respirators as they did while out and about inside of the giant space slug.  If you’re counting along with me, that only leaves eight minifigures, where a few sentences ago I promised ten, what gives?  Well, the last two are twin “things” which appear in episode 8.  As such, they don’t have names or a purpose yet.  All we know are they are adorable and roughly the size of BB-8.  There is also a mynock, which isn’t quite a minifigure, but does represent those pesky, cable-eating creatures from the movies.

Those Curves Though

The biggest visual difference on the exterior of the set compared to other versions is how many curves it includes.  As it inevitable without some serious design work, the older versions tended to end up on the blocky side.  That’s not an issue here as brand new pieces have been created to properly capture the look of this fantastic beast of a ship.   Another fantastic exterior feature is a working boarding ramp, perfect for those quick getaways.

The Interior

This thing is packed with easily accessible interior features.  The classic holo-chess board if, of course, included here, along with easy access to escape pods which should make for some fun playability.  The interior is accessed by removing small panels from the top of the build, this is a change from the previous Falcon with the rotating top panels which, when opened, gave the appearance of a half peeled orange.  Being able to fully remove small panels allows the ship to retain its classic look while granting access to the awesome interior features.

The Verdict

Who knows?  At $800 and 7,500+ pieces, this beast is going to be scrutinized unlike any other set to come before it.  We will get our review posted as soon as I have time to build it.  In the meantime, it can’t be denied how amazing this thing looks.  If you are reading this then you are some combination of Lego and Star Wars fan, and since I comfortably fit in both of those categories I know how fantastic this looks.

They also have a selection of streamers. One amazing thing about the Cloud9 team is that they have succeeded in achieving all these within the shortest possible timeframe. They came to the scene only in 2013.

Team SoloMid

Ask any of the fans of the League of Legends about the Team SoloMid (aka TSM), and they will tell you a lot about them if they are really informed fans. This is a North America based e-sports team, and real e-sports betting tips are banking on them to take over the future. Some of the most loved and most popular players are on this team. Busting top 4 myths surrounding online slots

Regardless of how long you’ve been playing online casino games, it’s a given that you must have come across certain so-called ‘truths’ behind online slots. If you look closely, you’d see that many of those truths are actually nothing more than myths. It’s high time those myths are busted and that’s what we’ll try to do here.

Let’s take you over some of the most commonly known misconceptions regarding online slot games, and find out the actual facts behind them. Furthermore, if you’re keen on finding the right casinos where you can indulge in unbiased online slots, Canadascasinos.ca is a website you must definitely visit.

Myth – ‘Cold streaks’ and ‘hot streaks’ in online slots are real

Although an online slot may often get into a hot streak mode, wherein it may cash out more regularly than usual, it’s also possible that it goes through phases when it barely delivers any pay outs. However, that doesn’t mean that game has been intentionally programmed to behave that way. The streaks are completely random in nature, and are in accordance with the law of statistics. Just like every spin of an online slot machine is completely arbitrary, such longer spells are too. To tell you the truth, there aren’t any streaks in online slots.

Myth – An online slot that hasn’t delivered a pay out of late, is due for one

Quite similar to the previous myth, this one is false as well. As online slots are completely random in nature, you can never accurately guess the timing of the next pay out. If a slot machine hasn’t paid out lately, it doesn’t imply that your next few spins may deliver a huge win. Although that’s possible, there is no intended programming behind it.

Myth – You can’t register huge wins playing with bonus money

Go through the slots listed at online-slots.ca, and play any them to understand how false this statement is! The random number generators (RNGs – you can read more about them here at bbc.co.uk) that determine the outcomes of spins (of online slot machines) can’t possibly know whether you’re playing using a cash deposit amount or the bonus money. Your chances of winning will always stay the same. Putting it in other words, the pay-out rate of an online slot machine doesn’t change simply because someone’s playing with bonus money.

Myth – New slot machines are introduced solely for the purpose of variety

Well, there’s partial truth in this statement, but what’s even truer is the fact that players of online slot games are mostly fickle and often tend to look for alternative slot games whenever they face a losing streak. It is to meet such needs that online casinos regularly come up with more and more varieties of slot games. While the players get something they can fall back on, and hopefully win back their lost money, the revenue stream of the casino also doesn’t get hampered.

Online Casinos Software – Download Or Not To Download?

When you start gaming online, you will come across several online gaming platforms where you
would be required to download online casino software to start gaming while at some others you
won’t. To understand the fundamental difference between the two casino software is that in
download online casino software, the gambling software needs to be saved in the hard disk of the
player’s computer. There are endless casino games as well as many types of slot games one can
explore online. Where as in the no-download online casino software is stored only temporarily in
the browser of the player’s computer for the time the gambling duration. But whether to
download the online casino gambling software or not? Read on to find the answers.

online-gambling

Where there is a need to download online casino gaming software, it may roughly take around 10
to 15 minutes to download and install to play the game, depending of course on the speed of the
web connection. In the no download casino, it may take only a minute for the casino online
software to be saved in the browser. However, a player will spend nearly the same amount of
time to access the game online as nothing is saved on his PC.

The leading providers for download online casino software have found a way to evade the longer
time for the setup and downloading. The player is able to download a few of the popular online
games first and can start playing instantly, while the rest of the online gaming software continues
to download. Players should keep in mind that the download online casino software can absorb
anything between 5 MB and 40 MB of the player’s computer memory. But again it depends on
the number of games offered as well as the built-in features. The no-download software, on the
other hand, does not consume any memory space on the computer as the player accesses the
software online.

If the memory of the computer is undersized, then the no-download online
casino gambling software is more practical as downloading the software will affect the gaming
speed considerably. Another related point to keep in mind about casino software is that in case
the player would like to try out different casinos then it makes no sense downloading different
online casino gaming software, which can take a toll on a computer’s memory. Then it is best to
stick to the no-download-required casino software.

The major drawback with the to-download software is that most of these only run in
Windows-based computers while the no-download casino online software will run on any
operating system. This allows even the MAC and Linux users to involve in online gambling. The
latest no-download-required online casino gambling softwarerequires plug-ins like Flash or
Shockwave which can be downloaded and installed for free.

The main downside of a no-download online casino software is the quantity of the games
offered, as generally, these software offer a far fewer number of the casino games offered in the
to-be-downloaded version of online casino gaming software. So, download or no-download
online casino software? Well, the choice is entirely yours.

Loot Boxes: Gamification in Gambling

Gambling takes many forms. It’s not just about putting your money down on a sporting event or going to a casino, but it can occur throughout our entire life. Simply making a choice between two things can be a gamble. We always want to make the decision that will benefit us the most but we always carry the risk of ending in a worse place. We can do research on every possibility and strategy, so we’re ahead of the game. All of this can come into our lives as we do something and hope for a result and it’s becoming more prominent in games.

Overwatch

Casinos games have long been tied in with video games. You would find slots machines, poker and more in many games across time, as well as their own dedicated titles. Such games include the Grand Theft Auto series, the Yakuza games and even Pokémon have done this. While real world casinos have remained hugely successful, online casinos have been on the rise. They are basically video games, expect you can win and lose real money. Playable on various devices, these aren’t the only ways you can put up money, then win or lose it, in video games.

In recent years, many video ages have incorporated systems that allow players to essentially gamble money. Micro-transactions and random loot boxes allow player to use their money to buy new perks, upgrades, costumes and more for certain games. Overwatch for example has boxes that player can unlock in the game that will contain random colours, voice lines, in-game currency, etc. You can purchase packs of these boxes though for various prices so you can obtain what you need. You don’t directly purchase any item though, instead relying on luck to get what you want. Only in-game currency can be used to obtain specific items and you can’t use real money to get it, making everything you obtain random.

FIFA has a similar system, in which players use real money to buy random packs of cards. These will contain players they can add to their teams and the opening of said packs has become popular in itself on YouTube. What makes this even more of a gamble than the system in Overwatch, is that rather than unlocking unessential cosmetics, in FIFA you obtain players for your team, with them having different stats. This means that you are required to buy player packs to strengthen your Ultimate Team, with luck determining if you get a strong or weak player. If you don’t spend enough, you can wind up with a weak team.

These boxes and packs found in Overwatch, FIFA, League of Legends, Injustice 2, Dota and similar are basically gambling. A player will use real money and hope for a winning result, which can vary depending on what they want to unlock. However, they can often go through boxes and never get a single item they desire or they could get all they need. Games would usually allow you to buy such things direct with real money (such as Street Fighter V) or you unlock things entirely with in game money earned by playing (Tekken 7).

These systems have remained popular though, especially as more and more content becomes available. As long as the developers earn money and the fans keep buying them, loot boxes are likely to stay a staple of video gaming and gambling.

Retiring Set: The Lighthouse Siege (70594)

The Ninjago line of Lego sets has been a pretty great story to watch unfold.  The series was originally planned to end just a couple of years after it began, but the popularity allowed it to stick around.  It has spawned a popular television series which is now going on seven seasons, and is next in line to receive the Lego Movie treatment.  This particular set includes a really awesome tower with a load of interactive play features, a great looking jet, seven mini-figurines, and a slew of weapons.  The Ninjago sets have always been designed around playability and this set is no exception, there are too many features to list, but rest assured they are there in bunches and a lot of fun.  Or, you know, just check out the official Lego description below. At the time of this writing, The Lighthouse Siege is still available on both Amazon and Lego Shop for MSRP or less.  It has been officially announced by Lego as retiring soon, so we don’t expect supplies to last long. The Ninjago set line has always been a ton of fun, and this set is no exception. As a collector, often the value is tied into aesthetics rather than play, but Ninjago is an exception.  With the movie coming out later this year there will be a ton of new sets released, but also increased demand for older sets like this one.  Since this is truly a really fun set, this one seems like a great set to pick up while you still can.
