Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounging Lizards
You don't know Leisure Suit Larry? You're kidding, right? Where were you in the late eighties? For the uninitiated, Leisure Suit Larry was based on a game written by the amazing Al Lowe, for Sierra On-Line and released in the year 1981 for the archaic Tandy. That game was called Softporn, a game intended for adults only. (If you want to try it, find a copy of Larry's Greatest Hits and Misses but please drink a lot before you start, it'll help.) Leisure Suit Larry was a rewrite of that classic game with the soon to be inexplicably popular Larry. The game was released in 1987 with a barrage of other amazing 3D adventure games by Sierra back when they actually released games and not Bonsai Shrub Manager or Be Your Own Tax Shelter Lawyer. I still remember playing the game for the first time on my dad's XT, which, although it had a color monitor, was "specifically for work purposes only" until he saw how much fun it was and started playing as well. You control Larry, a 40’s something bachelor who is looking for Ms. Right, or at least a warm bed for a hardcore minute. The game starts up with the original copy protection - a series of questions that only adults should know (Yeah, that's a good one - like I was 19 the first time I played) then you lead Larry on a series of adventures/misadventures through the nightlife of Lost Wages. progresses through a collection of characters that only Shakespeare could have thought of: Lefty the bartender, the Pimp, the Hooker, Fawn, Faith, the Drunk, the Barrel Dude, and most importantly… the blowup doll… I mean Eve, dang it.
For the best playing experience, I recommend gathering up your college buddies - you know the ones: guys with nicknames like Goat and S**t-head and play as a |

team. Make up your own drinking games - it’s the kind of family fun that can only happen on a computer. Try everything, this game was intended to be funny and it sure is. Doing even the most irrelevant activity will result in a hilarious analysis by the narrator. I take this game out of storage at least once a year and finish it in one sitting.
