This Week's GamesWeek of October 16th 2006
Contact Contact has unintentionally positioned itself as a successor to Earthbound, which isn’t quite true – it is goofy and strange, but not nearly to the same level as Nintendo’s SNES classic. While the combat seems pretty mundane, it looks interesting enough to be worth checking out. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent After being delayed from March, the fourth Splinter Cell game looks to bring the series into the next generation by offering even better graphics. The playable stages they’ve shown so far take place during the day, which is pretty strange for a Splinter Cell game. But they do look nice, easily as good as Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. |

Family Guy The Family Guy game will probably not be great, but it has some nice cell shaded graphics and a whole new plot, so it’s probably going to be worth at least a rental for fans. Just like the Futurama game, at least.

Destroy All Humans! 2 Pretty much the same game as before but taking place in the 60s. A good, safe bet from the publisher, but is it really worth revisiting this game just a year later? Bully There’s been a hilarious about of controversy surrounding Bully, which is especially amusing since Rockstar has been relatively tight lipped about it. But the concept seems enough to elevate it far beyond your typical GTA clone. Hopefully the gameplay is just as good.
