Not
only do I still play this game on a daily basis, but so do thousands of
other people. Usually the Xbox Live scene dies down after the first
month of release, but Pandora Tomorrow is still topping charts. Playing
online, in a “cat and mouse” scenario, has to be among gamings
finest moments. Oh yeah, and there is a pretty good single-player story
as well, which in turn ties in the multiplayer maps.
I’ll
be the first to admit that I’m not a Star Wars fan in any shape or
form, but Lucasarts does manage to make some decent games. One of the
many quality titles is Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR).
Developed by Bioware, the same personal behind Neverwinter Nights, named
the Game of the Year for 2003. Now the game is a platinum hit, and well
worth the investment.
ESPN
NBA 2K5 (XB)
Genre:
Sports
Hours
of Play: Unlimited (if playing Online)
The
ESPN series emerged out of the Sega Dreamcast rubble as one of the most
promising sports franchises in videogames. Several years later, ESPN has
now earned a spot right next to the EA Sports lineups. ESPN NBA 2K5
introduces new franchise features, including player chemistry, and
expands last year’s favorite mode, 24/7, to include more items and
more depth. This is a definite buy for any basketball fan, and the
$19.99 tag doesn’t hurt either.
Katamari
Damacy (PS2)
Genre:
Action Adventure
Hours
of Play: Unlimited
Every
dreamt about being a giant absorbing ball that can pick up anything it
wants and keep growing larger and larger? Neither have I, but Namco
certainly has put their dream into play. In Katamari Damacy you do
exactly that, rolling around picking up anything, from buildings to
trees, trying to get your ball as big as possible. This weird and quirky
game has been flying off the shelves because of its originality and
insanely fun modes.
