Namco Bandai has officially announced that they will be bringing Tales of the Abyss to North America later this year.  The game continues the series free-roaming battle stylings, and is being handled by Namco's Team Symphonia, with character design from Kosuke Fujishima (artist for the manga, Ah! My Goddess).

Tales of the Abyss follows the story of a well to do lad named Luke

fon Fabre, who was kidnapped for several years.  Upon finally returning to his family, the boy has no memory of his past life, so his kin help him to relax and slowly return to a normal life.  However, it doesn't take long before it turns out that Luke is at the center of some ancient prophecy and all hell breaks loose.

At this time, Tales of the Abyss is slated for a Fall 2006 release date.
