Nintendo Financials Update

November 24, 2005

Nintendo has released its latest set of financial numbers, and they are expecting a 21 percent drop in profit compared to this time last year, which is being attributed to a continued decline in Gamecube sales.

For the first six months of this fiscal year, Nintendo has earned 36.6 billion yen ($308 million US) in profit, compared to 46.4 billion yen last year.

The company has also adjusted its twelve month forecasts for sales of their various systems, increasing predicted GBA sales to 11 million unites, reducing Gamecube sales from 2.8 million units to 2.4 million, as well as reducing DS sales from 12.4 million units to 12 million.

Despite these changes in numbers, Nintendo expects to earn 75 billion yen in profit on 500 billion yen of sales, just as they stated in early October.
