Asheron's Call 2 Shutting Down

Turbine announced today that they will be shutting down their MMORPG Asheron's Call 2 at the end of this year. No reason was given for this, but all signs point to the title simply not being profitable enough to be sustainable. While the game was far from popular in comparison to the original Asheron's Call, it did have an extremely loyal, albeit small, fan base, who are now rather miffed, especially considering that an expansion pack was only recently released for AC 2. Despite the sequel shutting its doors soon, it would appear that Turbine has no plans for closing down the original Asheron's Call any time soon. |
