After a weekend where every Everquest II server went down, leaving players high and dry, and barely able to log into the EQ2 forums, Sony Online Entertainment have decided to offer players 3 days of free play, which also includes accelerated experience point gains over a 24 hour period).

SOE has also issued an apology to players for the extended period of downtime, stating that

engineers had to be flown in to correct the problem, and the process could not be rushed in order to ensure all of the servers were safely restored.
