Toy
Strikers Announced
(Press
Release)
SEOUL,
South Korea, January 27, 2004 -- NCsoft Corporation today announced Toy
Strikers™, the third of NCsoft-developed games following Lineage™
and Lineage™ II. The game maker has been developing Toy Strikers over
the past year. Unlike its two predecessors Lineage and Lineage II, both
of which are MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game),
Toy Strikers is a massively multiplayer shooting game, and the first
product for casual gamers developed by NCsoft.
In
Toy Strikers, gamers fight against a group of gangsters (Devil Toys) who
want to take over Toy Land. The characters that gamers can choose are
cartoon-like toy airplanes. The planes can be transformed into other
forms and be combined into a larger one, adding flexibility and fun to
this new online game.
Many
casual online games only allow eight players at a time in one battle
field. Some allow 32 to 64 players; however, Toy Strikers allows up to
200 players to participate on one battle field -- with many per server!
In addition, it offers a specialized armor system, exciting battles, and
a simple interface. Having completed internal testing, Toy Strikers is
expected to go to closed beta service in February 2004.
